Wizu Workspace gears up to launch in York
NEWS / 27 FEBRUARY 2025

Following a wave of northern expansions, Wizu Workspace is set to make its York debut with its 14th location in the portfolio. Landing at East Coast House, 25 Skeldergate, this 24,500 sq. ft. riverside workspace will bring Wizu’s signature blend of design-led offices, top-tier amenities, and its renowned hospitality-first approach to one of the UK’s most historic cities.
Set to open in Summer 2025, Wizu’s latest venture will take prime position on the banks of the River Ouse, just minutes from York Station and The Shambles. Tailored for businesses of all sizes, the space will offer private offices for teams ranging from 2 to 100+, alongside Wizu’s classic offering of coworking areas, premium meeting rooms, and virtual office solutions. With abundant natural light, riverside views, and exceptional amenities, the environment is designed to foster both productivity and wellbeing.

With its stunning finishes and focus on community, Wizu’s latest location injects a new era of sophistication, innovation, and vibrancy into York’s business scene – setting a new benchmark for the city’s workspace offering.
The deal was facilitated by Dan Suggitt of Polestar Asset Management and Olivia McDowell of Habitec, who advised Wizu, with James Bradley from Knights PLC representing the Helmsley Group. Ed Harrowsmith, Director at Helmsley Group, a leading property investment and development firm, added:
“We’re delighted to welcome Wizu to East Coast House; the property is one of York’s premier office buildings, offering views over the River Ouse in a popular central location. As we continue with the development of nearby Coney Street to create a go-to riverside destination, the appeal of this location is set to grow even further and create the ideal locality for the Wizu community.”

Tom Almas, CEO of Wizu Workspace, shared his excitement about the new location: “York has been on our radar for a long time because, quite honestly, people wouldn’t stop asking us to come here!” he explained. “We’ve had countless requests from members and businesses who love what we do and want the same experience in this iconic city. East Coast House is our answer – offering the flexibility, inspiring design, and hospitality-led service we’re known for, right in the heart of York.”
This latest expansion highlights Wizu’s continued growth and success across cities like Leeds, Sheffield, and beyond. As demand for flexible spaces grows, East Coast House will no doubt become a key destination for businesses seeking innovative and adaptable workspaces in the heart of York.
