Patch set for 17,000 sq ft at
£107m mixed-use Gloucester scheme

NEWS / 13 AUGUST 2025

Patch, the fast-growing workspace and community brand, is setting up its biggest location yet- 17,000 sq ft of flexible, design-led space at The Forum, Gloucester’s £107m mixed-use development. Opening this winter, it will be the company’s sixth site and its first in a brand-new commercial build.

Today, Patch announced plans to launch its flagship home for work and community at The Forum, right in the cultural and commercial heart of Gloucester.

“Patch is your home on the high street in at least five locations. And I'm absolutely thrilled to add one more to that later this year”, Patch's founder, Freddie Fforde, shared his enthusiasm on LinkedIn.

Freddie launched Patch in 2020, and the operator opened its first site in Chelmsford the following year, transforming a Victorian brewery into a vibrant hub complete with workspaces, a library, event space, and a café-bar.

The company’s mission has always been “to create opportunity for people, work and community on every UK high street” under its “work near home” philosophy.

Freddie added: “Today, we take that journey one step further with the announcement of our latest and largest site, in Gloucester. We, the whole team, are driven by our impact for culture, community and yes for work too. Economic empowerment, hand in hand with access to your passions.”

Patch aims to support Gloucestershire’s entrepreneurs, creatives, and changemakers. The new location will feature private offices, flexible coworking areas, and inspiring spaces for meetings and events - designed to foster bold ideas, ambitious businesses, and a community shaping the future.

Once complete, the hub will host over 100 businesses and 500 members, offering everything from dedicated desks and members’ lounges to publicly bookable meeting rooms, production studios, and event spaces.

Patch is the second confirmed tenant for The Forum, joining Gloucester-based tech firm Fasthosts, which will occupy 19,000 sq ft later in 2024. The £107m scheme, led by Gloucester City Council in partnership with Reef + Partners, will feature 135,000 sq ft of Grade A offices, a boutique hotel, 393 parking spaces with 41 EV chargers, apartments, and retail.

Cllr Jeremy Hilton, leader of Gloucester City Council, said: “We're delighted to welcome Patch to Gloucester. Along with current tenants Fasthosts they share our vision for the city and see its massive potential to grow and attract talent.”
