MetSpace readies second-floor takeover
in Crafts Council collab

NEWS / 25 FEBRUARY 2026

In collaboration with Crafts Council, managed workspace operator MetSpace is preparing to unveil a brand-new creative hub in Angel’s iconic Grade II listed chapel on Pentonville Road. A cornerstone of London’s craft scene since 1991, the chapel will welcome businesses to a thoughtfully designed second-floor office this April. Here's what you need to know.

Spanning an impressive 4,413 sq ft, the new MetSpace hub promises a fully self-contained workspace tailored for around 50-60 desks. From private phone booths to breakout areas and meeting rooms, the environment is curated to encourage focus, creativity and collaboration – all within the historical walls of one of London’s most characterful buildings.

Behind the scenes, history has been given a contemporary makeover. Soul Spaces, working alongside MetSpace and Crafts Council, spearheaded the refurbishment, ensuring that every corner honours the building’s past while equipping it for a future of dynamic, productive work. A complete strip-back to shell and core has modernised the building, upgraded mechanical and electrical systems, enhanced accessibility and improved sustainability, all leading to an EPC rating of B.

Ashley Diamond, COO of MetSpace commented on the partnership: “We're enormously proud to be joining forces with Crafts Council in one of London’s most distinctive historic buildings. The space is a perfect blend of heritage, thoughtful design, and the kind of operational detail that helps workplaces perform over the long term.”

Crafts Council, founded in 1971, has long championed the transformative power of craft. As Natalie Melton, Executive Director of Crafts Council, reiterates: “Craft connects people and ideas in powerful ways. With MetSpace, we’re opening doors to creativity and collaboration, making our historic home a place where everyone can experience the joy of craft.”

Its Angel home has hosted exhibitions exploring craft, technology and culture - recent highlights include Cayr Charity’s stitched self-portraits, UCL’s Everything is Connected and the Arab British Centre’s A River Between Mountains. Now, MetSpace adds a new layer to the building's story.

With MetSpace at the helm, the chapel is set to become a place where heritage, design and modern businesses collide, proving that period buildings can be as forward-looking as the businesses that occupy them.
