Derwent London sharpens its occupier
focus with a senior leasing shake-up
NEWS / 29 JANUARY 2026
Derwent London has promoted Philippa Abendanon to the newly created role of Head of Occupier Markets, alongside Kane Lewis, who steps into the position of Head of Leasing. Effective from 2 February, the moves signal a renewed focus on leasing performance and active occupier engagement across the REIT’s central London portfolio.
Philippa, a 14-year Derwent London veteran and former Head of Leasing, will continue to sit on the executive committee. In her new role, she will lead the delivery of the company’s occupier strategy across the portfolio, spanning both leasing and asset management.
Kane, who has spent a decade with the business, succeeds Philippa as Head of Leasing. His focus will be on attracting new occupiers across Derwent London's existing estate and pipeline, driving rental performance and supporting the delivery of the REIT’s wider business plan.
Speaking on the appointments, Chief Executive Paul Williams said: “Philippa and Kane are two outstanding talents within our business, bringing deep portfolio experience and a strong understanding of our occupiers,” adding that “these appointments reinforce our occupier strategy and our focus on driving value through active leasing and asset management.”
Taken together, the promotions reinforce Derwent London’s emphasis on leadership continuity and occupier-focused strategy, underlining the growing weight of tenant influence across the market.
