Canvas makes power play 
at 1 Fetter Lane

Fresh off a string of headline London launches, premium workspace operator Canvas is adding another heavyweight to its central portfolio. Enter 1 Fetter Lane: a landmark address set just off Fleet Street and steeped in the legal and literary fabric of the city. A storied site that’s passed through the hands of multiple flex operators - until now. Canvas is taking it over once and for all, with a full-scale dream refurb that’s set to reimagine the space entirely. 

Spanning 25,000 sq ft, the building is being completely reimagined from the ground up. From fit-out to floorplan, every inch is being reworked to reflect the brand’s signature “Work. Rest. Play.” ethos. Think warm terracotta tones, textured leathers and traditional joinery, the interiors are a nod to the building’s heritage - but with a distinctly contemporary twist.

Stretching over five floors, incoming tenants can expect twenty six private offices ranging from 4 to 25 desks, five meeting rooms, phone booths, and newly configured layouts. At the centre of it all: a striking spiral staircase leading to a thoughtfully curated lounge and wellness area - complete with a kitchen, pool table and soft-seating nooks.

Just minutes from Chancery Lane, Holborn, and the buzz of Farringdon, this latest move from Canvas signals yet another smart play. The operator, renowned for embedding soul and substance into its spaces, is clearly doubling down on high-impact heritage buildings with long-term potential. Whether you’re a fast-growing team or an established player seeking an upgrade, this one’s worth a look. Just don’t expect it to look anything like the Fetter Lane you remember…
