Argyll taps Holborn in first deal
since Crosstree takeover
NEWS / 18 NOVEMBER 2025
For the first time in almost two decades, Argyll has added a new owned building to its portfolio. The operator has officially snapped up 33 Chancery Lane, a 23,000 sq ft Midtown address, moments from their existing Central Court hub. This acquisition marks its first addition since Crosstree Real Estate Partners took the reins earlier this year, and a clear signal that Argyll is firmly back on the offensive.
The deal, secured from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn Trustees (with Savills advising), comes at a pivotal moment for the business. With Crosstree now backing the brand, the operator is doubling down on its “premium, design-led” promise - not just by adding new buildings to the mix, but by rolling out a portfolio-wide upgrade programme that sharpens everything from amenities to sustainability as customer expectations continue to climb.
The six-storey building will now be taken through a full-scale, signature Argyll transformation. Think elevated amenities, premium private offices, quiet wellness corners, AV-ready phone booths, breakout zones, an open lounge, and even an outdoor terrace.
John Drover, Argyll’s CEO, calls 33 Chancery Lane “an ideal addition” for the brand - giving smaller teams another highly polished option in Holborn, one of London’s most competitive flex hotspots. And for Investment Director Philip Symonds, it marks “the next phase of growth”, powered by “high occupancy levels and sustained demand for high-quality, design led flexible offices”.
Crosstree’s founding partner, Sean Arnold, echoed that sentiment and shared: "Following the successful closing of the acquisition of Argyll in May, we are excited to be adding to the company’s owned portfolio for the first time in nearly 20 years. We look forward to working closely with management on the identification and refurbishment of additional suitable buildings across central London."
It’s been quite the evolution for the brand - formerly known as London Executive Offices, then sold, rebranded and ultimately revamped in 2021 under Alpine Grove and Baupost, before Crosstree’s £330m takeover set the stage for its next chapter earlier this year.
Today, Argyll operates 25 of the capital’s most characterful premium workspaces, and with 33 Chancery Lane now in the pipeline (and more expected to follow), the next chapter is officially underway. To stay up to date on Argyll’s activity and more flex collabs, be sure to subscribe.
